The Crew

Picture 12Northwest Wild host Steve Engman is a sports fanatic, former sports reporter, feature writer for a regional golf magazine and co-owner of SportsLife Media. His journey to hosting Northwest Wild began at a young age with many days and nights spent finding every possible way to run, jump, throw, swim, climb or get dirty.

Steve’s lived in some of the most scenic outdoor terrains in the world. A native to Durango, Colorado, Steve spent his youth split between there and the arid desert Mecca of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Following that Steve made his way to Oregon where he attended High School and then college at the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communications.

For the last 12 years he’s considered Oregon home and loves the abundance of activities the Pacific Northwest allows one to do. By living in these three very different environments Steve has learned to love the outdoors and to try new activities in them whenever possible.

This attitude and background has led Steve to become our host for Northwest Wild. Although most of these activities he has never tried, or had any formal training in, Steve is willing to put himself in your shoes to show you how to get out and enjoy the Pacific Northwest and all of the adventures sports it offers.

John Waller - Lead Camerman

What doesn’t John Waller do?  As owner of Uncage The Soul Productions, John is a highly accomplished video assassin, who’s targets include mountain tops, rivers, underground cave exploration, oceans, helicopters, boats and the cross fire of intense paintball tournaments, to name a few.  There is almost no environment that John will not tackle and bring to life through the lens. As an accomplished mountain and river guide, John also brings his wealth of outdoor experience to the Northwest Wild crew. Odds are, if you watch the show and love the videography, you can thank John.
